Ravolution / Story

TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF BUILDING WHAT DIDN'T EXIST YET.

From an aircraft patent in 1998 to an invention company shipping patented platforms today — the working life of inventor Ivan Daza, and the story behind Ravolution AB.

1998 first invention → 2026 the studio era

    1. The first invention

      The Gyrocraft

A novel aircraft concept, designed and published in the Chronicles of Titicaco — the first of a lifetime of inventions.

    2. The enterprise, made social

A social network for the enterprise

A social intranet built for Ericsson — profiles, feeds and internal networking — six years before Facebook launched, won in competition with Capgemini.

    3. Targeted email at scale

      Ad2You

An email-marketing platform. Within two months, CNN proposed a revenue-share to run targeted campaigns across its verticals — tech, business and more — and Ad2You consistently outperformed competitors on open and conversion rates, drawing a partnership offer from the portal Passagen.

    4. Calling it early

      Talking over broadband

An article in the magazine Vision predicts that people will soon talk to one another over broadband and that the telcos will lose their long-distance revenue — describing, in effect, Skype four years before it launched, and six months before Telia's own Östen Mäkitalo made the same forecast.

    5. Democracy, digitised

      Votia & the rĂĄdslag

An e-democracy platform letting Swedish municipalities run rådslag — citizen consultations — and lowering the barrier to reach the participation threshold needed to put a question to the public.

    6. A parallel life's work

Titicaco — The King of the Sea

A creative universe begun in 2002: the trilogy Titicaco — The King of the Sea, “re-writing history as it really was, from the beginning of time to a hundred years from now.” From 2010 it grew into 47 short films with deep-dive companion videos, and the full trilogy and its expanding world now live online.

In December 2011, Ivan travelled to New York and pitched the Titicaco saga to Donald Trump.

Pitching the Titicaco saga to Donald Trump — New York, 19 December 2011.
    7. Education for the world

      Titicaco Communicaring School™

A global, internet-based school built to bring high-quality digital education to rural and underserved regions — nominated in 2003 as Sweden's best initiative in the e-Inclusion category of the UN-backed World Summit Awards, in the awards' inaugural year.

Its purpose is to help shape the future through education: to build not just basic knowledge but problem-solving, sustainable development, entrepreneurship and leadership; to promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among nations; and to deliver it through an integrated digital environment of eLearning, eTwinning, eCommunity, eDemocracy and eAdministration.

The model has been carried into the real world since — serving children in post-tsunami Thailand in 2005, and in June 2009 presented by Ivan to development economist Jeffrey Sachs as a solution for education in rural areas and countries with limited access to schools.

Presenting CommunicaringSchool to Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus.

    8. After the wave

      Phi Phi Island Foundation

Head of Operations after the tsunami. Built Titicaco Communicaring School™ — the internet school from 2003 — for children in a survival camp in Krabi, and stood up microloan operations — interviewing around 100 families under Johan Staël von Holstein's foundation.

    9. A fairer labour market

      Blatteförmedlingen

Founded to widen diversity in the Swedish labour market — showing large employers and municipalities why a workforce that mirrors the population is one that can reach and serve it. Ivan also authored Handbok för invandrade entreprenörer, a handbook for immigrant entrepreneurs.

    10. Poverty, at scale

      Hand in Hand

Ivan serves on the board of Hand in Hand Sweden — the charitable foundation led by industrialist Percy Barnevik — reporting on the progress of its microloan work, which lifted hundreds of thousands of women entrepreneurs out of poverty in India. Today, the global network has helped launch or strengthen over 7 million grassroots businesses, which in turn have created more than 10 million jobs.
